Standard and basic

What is the difference between single and unlimited indexes/collections?

Comparing the pricing, basic is 30% lower than standard even when I add the additional maintenance cost of $1200.

The additional 30% cost seems to be for the unlimited indexes/collections. What is the significant advantages of using standard?

The unlimited collections allows you to index two or more separate websites, or an external website and an intranet site on the same appliance.

If you want to index more than one collection you would need either one SBE, or multiple SBE Basics.

Will indexing of file server considered as a separate index from a web site crawl?

If you want to keep the indexes separate and search one or the other they would be separate.

If you combine them together so a search would return both file and web results then that is a single index.
