"Update would generate non-unique row"???

Post by Thunderstone »

While running gw (not using -rewalk), I'm getting lots of these messages in
the log file:

1999/01/18 15:46:35 Retrieving
http://nssweb.nss.harris.com/techpubs/m ... dlspkr.pdf
1999/01/18 15:46:36 Update would generate non-unique row
1999/01/18 15:46:37 Retrieving
http://nssweb.nss.harris.com/techpubs/m ... tacker.pdf
1999/01/18 15:46:38 Update would generate non-unique row

The -unique flag is in effect for this database. What is the meaning of
this message? Thanks.

-Alan

It means pretty much what it says. There is another record in the database
with the same content as the new version of file it mentioned. The new version
is not stored. The old version is left in place.
