Not following off-site redirect to ...

Post by John »

Is the Base URL on a different server? If offsite pages is NO then it will not follow a redirect to another server. What do you want to happen?

The base URL is on a different server.
It should not follow the redirect to another server - this works correct.
but the indexing of the other sites stops after this message.

What are all of the base urls and non-default settings?
What does the walk status say?

The walk status says: ABANDONED with the error "Had this error: Not following off-site redirect...";
"0 pages (0 bytes). 1 errors. 0 duplicate pages. "

what does the question "What are all of the base urls and non-default settings?" mean?

Go to your all walk settings. Cut and paste the base url list into here. Also tell what settings you changed from their default values.

You said there are "other sites", so there should be more than one base url. Please list them all. Mark the message private if you don't want the world to see them.

What version of scripts are you running? If not recent try the latest from the website.

with other sites i don't mean base urls's. i would tell the the indexing stopps after the failure.

we have the version vom april 2004.
is it neccessary to install the complete software or is it possible only to change some files to get es new script version?

Then I'm completely lost. I don't know what you mean about "indexing other sites". Your base url should point to the actual url of the site to be indexed, not something that redirects to it.

The script gives the version number on the top right of the admin pages. You can upgrade just the scripts for most features. There may be a few features that may not work without a full update.
