Body contains much less information than the list/edit page indicates

Our appliance has all patches installed as of 7/17.
I ran across several pages using the list/edit link which contains one word in the body, but the size on that page says "24,614 bytes download, 4 bytes text". The 24614 sounds about right for the page as it does have more than one word in the body. What would cause the rest of the text not to be stored?
