Seaching for the £ sign

Post by joseph.gresham »

Hi

What would be the best way of searching for the £ sign. At the moment any attempt to search for this returns no results and is also being returned as £ on the error page.

Either make sure the search form and result page have the charset set to UTF-8, which is the storage format, or change the storage format to match your display format.

Hi

Tried both of the above but still no results are being returned. It seems that the £ sign is being ignored during the indexing process.

Make sure XML UTF-8 is off.
Make sure your Word Definition expression(s) include that character.

Make sure you do a complete new (not refresh) walk after changing storage related options.

Use List/Edit urls to find a page with £ on it and see how it's shown there.

Hi

Thanks for the help, switching off XML UTF-8 and adding to the Word Definition expression(s) solved the problem.
