Encrypted PDFs don't index

Characteristics of the PDF files that do not get indexed:
PDF Producer: Acrobat Distiller 7.0.5 (Windows)
PDF Version: 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x) or 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)
Document Components to Encrypt: Encrypt all document contents except metadata
Compatibility: Acrobat 6.0 and later
We are diligent about completing the title and author portion of the document properties and specifying "Encrypt all document contents except metadata" when securing the PDFs. We use Adobe Acrobat 7 (Standard and Professional) to create the files.

It looks like the next rev of the PDF filter that's in development will handle those. Sorry, I don't have a release date for that yet. Maybe in the next monthly release.

Encrypted PDFs aren't supported in the current version of the filter.

Encrypted PDFs do index if the compatibility is set to Acrobat 5.0 and later

Are monthly releases automatically updated?

Also, since Encrypted PDFs with Compatibility: Acrobat 5.0 do index, perhaps this problem is not isolated to encryped PDFs not indexing. Maybe it is with the PDF version and encryption.

You'd have to open a ticket for sales or tech support using the contact us page to request an update to Webinator.

I'm not sure of the ins and outs. I just ran the file through the filter that's in development and it worked.
