I downloaded Linux 2.6l2.3 x86_64 and trying to install on a Fedora 6 box. I am getting the following error message:
Install dir [ENTER for /usr/local/morph3]:
Directory /usr/local/morph3 does not exist.
Shall I create it (y/n)? [ENTER for y]: y
Directory /usr/local/morph3 created.
Checking install dir...Ok
Checking tar file...Ok
Unpacking Webinator files...Ok
Checking for existing version...........Ok
Checking files...Ok
Configuring and installing Webinator files:
./install: line 985: /usr/local/morph3/install-tmp/usr/local/morph3/bin/gwpatch: cannot execute binary file

*** Aborting installation due to above error ***
Is this the correct version if so how do I resolve the line 985 problem?

You're probably not running a 64 bit kernel. Try the Linux 2.4l2.2 x86 version. It also runs on newer kernels.

Download and try installing the Linux 2.4l2.2 x86 version.
Got the following:

CGI extension [ENTER for none]:
Checking dir with a web fetch...failed, will try again
Trying again with file...Ok
Verifying version...Ok
Verifying variables...*** Failed ***
Document root dir does not exist.
$sourcepath was .

One or more variables were not set as expected by the URL:
http://srvlive.serve.org/cgi-bin/texis/ ... html?-dump
The web server may not be running Texis for that URL, or it may be
incorrectly setting CGI variables. Netscape-Enterprise/3.6 is known
to have such a bug. Your web server appears to be
Apache/2.2.4 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8d PHP/5.2.1 mod_apreq2-20051231/2.5.7.

Make sure you are running a web server that sets CGI environment
variables, such as $SCRIPT_NAME, $PATH_TRANSLATED, $PATH_INFO, and
$DOCUMENT_ROOT, correctly. Without them Vortex cannot run correctly
on a web server.

I downloaded a script to test the CGI environment variable and the output matches the output of the example. I also searched apache web and it check mod_env this is loading.
I have been searching the web to find more info about setting the variable for the past week.
any directions please help

Your installation *appears* to be working. I've marked your message private someone doesn't come in and set the password to something you don't know. Visit
http://srvlive.serve.org/cgi-bin/texis/webinator/dowalk
to do first time password setup.
Rename INSTALLDIR/texis/scripts/search4 to search
and it looks like you'll be good to go.
