Running Texis on a VM box

Has there been any testing of Vortex running on a Red Hat Linux VM? If so, what are the minimum requirements needed and what issues need to be monitored? I have a Vortex database that is over 1.5 million rows and has a high amount of network traffic.

Texis works normally in a Linux Xen subdomain (Virtual Machine). Issues are the same as a dedicated machine, make sure you have sufficient cpu, disk, ram, and network bandwidth. You just have to consider how much of those resources may already be used up by other VM's on the same machine.

Since the host OS should be handling disk cache you don't have to worry about that as much. So half to 1 GB of ram should be good. If you have more than a couple simultaneous database processes (searches, updates, etc) or complex queries you may want more. Multiple CPUs can also be useful, but not required, in that situation.
