Users on our site sometimes get the error "Your query was poorly formed. Please make corrections" when using incorrect syntax (such as a hyphen followed by a space). Is there a way for us to customize this error message (i.e., replace it with some other text)?

If you're using the XSL results style you could, in your custom XSL, look for QueryMessage being that value and print something different instead.
