Excluding Unwanted Pages In A Walk

Post by lbneal »

Perhaps someone else has addressed this but I will still post this hint.

I needed to exclude various portions of a site I was walking so I tried this and it actually worked:

Exclusions:

/cgi-bin/
/print/
/2007/
/2006/
/2005/
/2004/
/2003/

~

Frankly it was just a guess.

Using this in "Refresh" did not seem to have effect but in a "New" walk it succeeded.

Excluding Unwanted Pages In A Walk

Exclusions don't affect what's already in the database during a refresh. You have to use Profile Tools->List/Edit urls to delete unwanted items from the database or perform a mode new walk.

What to exclude is very site and user specific in most cases.
