I immediately get the following error when I run setup.exe to install Texis on our Windows server:

What does it all mean?!? The installation went smoothly on our other servers.

What operating system is this? Is it the same as the other servers?

5006 / 0x80070002 seem to point to corruption or missing files. You can verify system file are correct by running "sfc /scannow". You can also try moving away the "C:\Program files\Common Files\Installshield" folder temporarily, and see if that lets the installer run.

OS: Windows Server Standard SP2.

I tried changing the name of the Installshield Installation Information directory. Still the same thing.

Also sfc /scannow revealed no problems.

Other ideas?

Still no resolution to this issue, and not sure what else to try...

I thought about using the Windows "Uninstall Programs" utility to uninstall Texis (it *is* in the list of installed programs), but I'm a little gun shy about doing that. If I can successfully remove the currently installed version but am unable to then install the latest version, I'll be up a creek!

Ideas?

If you run the following from the command line:
setuptxn.exe -extract_all:"C:\texistmp"

and then run the "setup.exe" from inside C:\texistmp,
does it still have the problem? If so, is the message any different?

One other possibility I've found: is this machine running Norton antivirus? If so, could you try disabling it and re-running the setup?

This is an upgrade? Were the other successful machines also upgrades? Were they coming from the same version?

Uninstalling texis & trying a clean install would be the only idea I have left. A failure to install after the uninstall wouldn't mean you have to go without texis - it's possible to copy the program from another successful machine and manually tweak the registry & IIS.

Yes. Same problem, same error message from within c:\texistmp

It'd probably be best to call in at this point.
