Setting userid

Post by Thunderstone »

Greetings!
I run gw on NT-Server. Usually I am logged on as Administrator. When I run
gw to update an index the search is blocked (I get an ERROR message). When
I logout and re-login as IUSR_MyPC I am able to search and index (run gw)
simultaneously.
Now, here comes my question: Is it possible to run gw as USER1 (e.g.
IUSR_MyPC) without logging out as ADMINISTRATOR and logging in as USER1? In
other words: Is it possible for ADMINISTRATOR to run gw as USER1.

Thanks!
Armin

With the NT Resource Kit there is a utility called su.exe, which will
allow you to start a process as any arbitrary user.
