I've downloaded the free version for some testing on a Win 2003 server with IIS 6 where I have some test web sites.

After installing I get this message when I use the url http://somewebsite.com/texis/webinator/dowalk

500 Vortex Error
Webinator was unable to process the requested URL:

http://somewebsite.com/texis/webinator/ ... 6b4ea1c966

Please ask the site administrator of somewebsite.com to check vortex.log for problems.

Script not found or Vortex error.

Please advise.

Looks like ASP.NET is mangling the urls. Check out this article about disabling the ASP.NET v4.0 extensionless URL feature on IIS 6.0 and see if that helps.

Synopsis of that article for reference:

"You can disable the v4.0 ASP.NET extensionless URL feature on IIS6 by setting a DWORD at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ASP.NET\4.0.30319.0\EnableExtensionlessUrls = 0. After changing the value, you will need to restart IIS in order for [it] to pick up the change, because it is only read once when IIS starts. Note that for Wow64 (i.e., 32-bit worker process running on 64-bit OS), this registry key must be set at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ASP.NET\4.0.30319.0\EnableExtensionlessUrls."
