libtermcap.so.2 and Fedora 17

Post by harold »

I'm migrating my 10 year old copy of Webinator to a new server running Fedora 17 64 bit. Looking back through my old notes on migrating, I tried running

./texis -update

I got this error message:

error while loading shared libraries: libtermcap.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Googling around, it looks like installing ncurses-devel.x86_64 0:5.9-4.20120204.fc17 would add it. I still get the same error message.

Ideas?

THANKS!

Most likely your old software is 32 bit so 64 bit libs won't help. Install 32 bit compatibility libs or get the necessary libs at
ftp://ftp.thunderstone.com/pub/linux/

Run "texis -version" on the old system to find the OS build information for your version.

Thanks! I've run into various other issues on the new OS install, so I'm going to start over again. I'll get back to this ASAP.
