Specifying subsets of databases & database portability

Post by Thunderstone »

I have 2 questions regarding the use of Webinator. First, what is the way
to specify a subset of a database to be searched? Does the &arg= tag do
this? Also, how do I move a Webinator database from one machine to
another? I see the db=sandia tag on the Webinator http link. Which files
should I ftp to my machine? Will I have to re-index them?

Thanks,
Jeremie

The entire database (specified by the db variable) is searched for
each query. The query is specified in the arg variable as can be seen
on the default search form.

Databases can only be moved across machines of the same architecture.
All files in the database directory need to be moved. You won't have
to re-index. The database must reside on the same machine the webinator
cgi program runs on.
