Timed out message running gw

I installed webinator today on NT 4.0.

When I execute the command:

gw url:c1484.ent.nwie.net

I get error:

000 connect: WSAETIMEDOUT - attempt to connect timed out without
establishing a connection.

C1484.ent.nwie.net is my NT server on our intranet.

I looked at your Message Archive and found an entry that matches. It
recommends attempting to ping your license server: 198.49.220.90. I am
not able to ping this IP address from my NT server. I am behind a
firewall. I am able to http://198.49.220.90/ from the NT server with no
problem.

It seems I had the same or similar problem last fall. It will be
difficult to choose you as our intranet search engine if I can't get
this installed and tested. If we choose you we will be purchasing a
'commercial' license.

Please respond to schulzp@nationwide.com.

That's not a valid url. I think you mean:
gw http://c1484.ent.nwie.net

The license server now (as of version 2) uses the standard http port 80.
So gw should be able to reach it if you can reach it with a web browser.
I assume you get the same thing when you do:
gw -d- -create

One possibility is that your web browser is using a proxy to get out and
that outbound port 80 is blocked. The license client (gw) does not go
through proxies for license checking.

If you're serious about purchasing, we do have a 30 day return policy.
You can link to the license agreement from the Webinator page
http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/
The "License" link is near the bottom under the "Order" link for Commercial.
