Unable to contact license server

After nearly two months of successful license replies following my June 17, 2024 installation of Webinator 27, suddenly on Aug 6 and Aug 7 there is no contact to the license server. Here are some records from the monitor log:

Webinator was installed on June 17, 2024, and license obtained

.... there were successful replies every day Jun 17 through Aug 5

Also, any attempt to telnet to ls.thunderstone.com port 80 similarly times out.

How can this problem be resolved?

We had some severe storms that knocked out power and internet to the data center housing some of our servers. We had been in the process of migrating to a new data center, and are looking into options as to when service will be restored, or if we will be able to rebuild the server elsewhere.

Is there some work-around which can be used in the meantime to allow webinator (free version) to function, even for a short period of time?

For example, is there a way to create a short-term license code which would expire after you get the license server back on-line? Perhaps one temporary license code could work for everybody using free webinator.

Or, perhaps you could charge a modest sum for a temporary license code of some sort.

Our internet connection was restored yesterday afternoon, so it should be working again. We will be looking at how to make that more resilient in the future. The paid licenses will keep working without connectivity.
