Webinator Documentation

Post by Thunderstone »

I just pulled down the tar.Z file for the Linux version of the Webinator
and uncompressed it, and ran the install per the README instructions.
However, I did not find any user documentation on how to setup, configure,
build indicies, or use Webinator. Could you give me some feedback.
Thanks.

Webinator Documentation

Installing it is all there is to setup and configuration.
The installation script should have given you the very basics
at completion:
Index your WEB site with a command similar to this:
.../webinator/bin/gw http://www.mysite.com

Create indices for searching with:
.../webinator/bin/gw -index

Search your index with a URL similar to this:
http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/webinator

The documentation is online at:
http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/

Its not complete yet, but the essentials are there. See the sections
under "Query Help" and "WWW Indexer (GW) Documentation".
