What does this error message mean?

Post by Thunderstone »

The following error was reported to me, while a user was making a search.

__Copied from browser page__

No documents matched your query exactly, so I tried a fuzzy search for you.

ERROR: Texis daemon (29389) ABEND: signal 11

ERROR: Texis daemon (29389) ABEND: signal 11

Well, this part means that the user had a proximity selected like "sentence"
that didn't produce any exact matches, so the engine tried to perform a "Rank"
query to find the best-fit answer instead.

The ABEND message means that The Texis engine inside Webinator didn't like
something about the query or database and bailed-out before it got worse.

If you can, try to find out the actual query and send it to me
(bart@thunderstone.com) and I'll hunt down someone to diagnose it.

Your database indexes may have been corrupted somehow, so do a

gw -unindex
gw -index

to re-create them. This can usually only happen if your machine crashed
or ran out of disk-space.

Thanks,

Bart
