database

Post by Thunderstone »

I have commercial webinator on multiple databases.

#1 works fine, searches are completed in 2-5 seconds -- html.tbl is 166 Mb
texis consumes max 20% of cpu resource and finishes quickly and stops running

#2 has gotten very slow, searches consume over 20 sec and sometimes time out -- html.tbl is 329 Mb
texis consumes 98% of cpu resource and remains at that level while trying to search

Server is dual pentium III 500 with 512 Mb ram running linux/apache

Is there a way to search for and/or correct possible corruption in the database?

What other possible causes could there be for this slowdown?

Thank you.

Both of those sound slower than we would expect. You should run gw -index
for each of the database to ensure that the text search indexes are created
and up to date.
