lock pid / psl lock error

We got these errors this morning at 1:43 AM and since then all scripts on the server timeout. I'm not the sysadmin and the sysadmin isn't in yet. What needs to be done to fix this? restart texis? restart webserver?

Bad lock wrong sid in the function checkserver
Lock pid not in server chain
Bad psl lock chain in the function

What can cause this to happen?

Don't know the cause, but try stopping all access to the database then
rmlocks -f THE_DATABASE
