Replication - destination unreachable

Post by michel.weber »

Hi

A basic question. What happens if for some reason the destination of a replication is not available.
I noticed that the number of items in the replication queue decreases regularly.
I checked the log files and i found time-out messages (which i expected).
Q : How do i synchronise the indexes after the destination machine come back?

Items that time out should stay in the replication queue until they are sent. If you are sending both locally and remote as you indicated the local should still work, and decrease the queue size. Also the queue may decrease even with no connection if there are operations that would cancel each other out, for example URL inserted then deleted, when the insert can get flushed out of the queue.
