indexing folders on cluster share

Post by Philreut »

Hello,

I have a question about indexing files (some office documents) which are stored on a cluster share in the same domain network.
The syntax that i used is file://xxx/xxx/file.html which containing url to fetch, one per line.

But the result is the next message :
Cannot fetch Url Url file://xxx/xxx/index.html: Disallowed protocol `file' for URL file://xxx/xxx//index.html

But I can access these links file://xxx/xxx/ through Internet Explorer, with the same syntax (copy / paste link in the browser)

Could you help me ?
Thank you a lot.

Well, you're clearly not refering to old webinator 2.5 where you posted this, so I've moved this to the Appliance group. I hope that's what you're referring to.

Go to "All walk settings". Scroll down. Near the bottom you'll find the "Protocols" setting. Make sure "file" is checked.

OK for moving this topic.

The "file" is checked on "Protocols" line.
When I launch it, I retreive an "Access denied" message.

Appliance made it before I posted the topic. Is there any mistake anywhere ?

Launch what "it"?
You get "Access denied" from where, the appliance admin interface or in the walk status?

Do you have the appropriate share mounted to the appliance?
Does the appliance have permission to access the file?

I'm not sure what you mean by "made it before". There's obviously a mistake somewhere.
