inmeta and daterange equivalents?

The Google appliance has a feature which allows you to search within specific meta tags. E.g. "inmeta:industry~aerospace".

Also they provide a search by date range on meta data. Does the Thunderstone appliance provide anything like this, and if so, how can it be implemented?

You can use the additional field feature for date and numeric range searching on defined fields. It will accept a variety of date formates.

You could also use the additional fields for searching in specific meta fields for exact matches.
