gw admin script problems, continued

Post by Thunderstone »

After my message earlier today, I discovered that although I was able to
reindex my site, when I'd go to the search page and run a search, I'd get
an error message that said something like "the database doesn't appear to
exist." It had been working just fine before. I think something got
corrupted when I tried reindexing (and yes,I had run out of space at the time.)
I did a clean reinstall and tried accessing the gw script again (I've put
it in the webinator file, same as the search script) and this time got the
message:

002 /proj/hem/docs/webinator/gw: Can't create output file
/proj/hem/docs/webinator/gw.vtx: Permission denied in the function
writeobj 002

It exists, and seems to work fine.

Yes.

I don't think so (I just hit return when that question came up during the
install process)

When I look at the files, everything seems to be set with my name on it.

I did just recreate the database, but haven't tried adding to it,
reindexing it, or creating an additional one.

Thank you!

The webinator directory needs to be writable by the user running
texis (the web server user, or the user texis is setuid to if it's setuid).
