Connection error message

Post by Thunderstone »

We're getting the error message:
Can't connect to license server

for certain commands (i.e. -wipe, -index, -rewalk), but we don't get it
for commands like -create.

Any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Steve Bohler

What platform are you running on?
Does the message occur before or after performing the desired action?
(If it's before, it won't do it).

On NT you can sometimes get that at the end of the process after
it has completed the desired action. If you get that message after
a walk, be sure to perform a -index. Otherwise it can be safely ignored.
There is a fix for this in the next minor release.

Mark,

We're running it on NT.

After creating a database, no error.
After specifying the directory to index, works fine, then error message.
After "gw -ddatabase -index", no output except the error message. Not sure
if it is really working or not.
Same thing when doing -rewalk

Thanks,
Steve

You're seeing the problem I mentioned before.
Make sure you -index after a walk. You'll also have
to rewalk the old way (walk to a new database and flip).
An updated release will be available soon.

-index should be working ok. If you want to verify that it is do a:
dir *_T.btr
in the database directory. They should all have a file size of 44 bytes.
