I have downloaded and installed the free version of Webinator on our =
server. It is NT 4.0 sp3 with IIS 3.0.
Having index a few sites, every attempt at a search resulted in the =
message
ERROR License not approved : missing or garbled data.
Then, without apparent reason, it started to work fine and continued to =
do so for about 5-6 hours. Then it started with the same message again.
I have read the other postings with similar problems and have tried =
everything I can think of.
The machine is set up with hostname of "www" and domain =
"brightonproperty.co.uk" The IP address is 194.207.104.119. Running =
hostname at the command prompt gives "www". The DNS entries are OK and =
queries to the DNS server give the correct answers.
The server is located at a local ISP. I have asked them to check that =
there are no firewall confilcts and they say not. I have connected to =
ls.thunderstone.com on port 10003 using telnet on the server and this =
appears to be OK.
There are four other virtual servers set up on this machine. Could this =
have anything to do with it?
I understand that texis asks the machine for its hostname before =
checking with the license server. How does it do this? (From the =
registry?)
HELP!!!!
