Install on IIS

Post by dtrivison »

I installed Webinator on my IIS server running NT4. The path I used for
the HTML as c:\InetPub\Wwwroot\

Was I supposed to use c:\InetPub\Wwwroot\Docs?

I had no problem with the scripts path.

After I ran gw.exe on my site, I had to copy the whole Webinator folder into my Docs folder.
Now searching works fine. But, will I have to do that each time I rewalk? Should I reinstall?

Yes, you should have specified the directory that contains your home page. You can specify the database to use when running gw or reinstall to fix it's default value.

Okay, I tried your installation again on a different NT server running IIS. This time I
drilled down on the default installation path for the HTML and added Docs to Inetpub\wwwroot. This time
the installation did not create any folder called Webinator at all! It did put the contents of
the Webinator folder directly in to my Docs folder.

What gives?

The default install path is c:\inetpub\wwwroot\webinator. If you want it installed in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\docs\webinator that is what you should enter.
