We've discovered that users of the AOL 6 browser cannot access our Webinator search. They get an error message, Web site not found, connection timed out. Our Webinator is on a Sun server that runs apache.
We previously discovered this problem with an SQL database on our Sun server running apache. AOL 6 browsers could not access it, but earlier AOL browsers could, and non-AOL browsers could. We contacted AOL. They are aware of the problem but do not intend to do anything about it. (That was our interpretation of the runaround answer they gave us). Their suggested fix was to put a note on our Web page telling users to minimize the AOL browser and load another browser.
So now this same problem is occurring with Webinator. Has anyone else encountered this, and is there a workaround?
