Difference in version 4

Is anyone able to tell me the difference (apart from the big price increase!) between version 4 and 2.5?

Here are some of the key differences:

Administrative features:

Totally customizable, full featured, scripted walker
Web based administrative interface (no command line required):
- Customizable, password protected, multi-user, full online help
PDF support available for all operating systems
- Improved appearance of PDF text extraction
- Support for PDF 4 and 5 documents
Friendly query log report generation
Convenient interface for listing and deleting urls in the database
Imports option settings from webinator 2 databases
More licensing options
Licenses may be upgraded by a simple key rather than reinstallation

Walking features:

Categories specified by url patterns
Cookie support
Meta robots support
Iframe support
Automatic optional reindexing on change
Ignore case option for help in walking Windows based servers
Simplified handling of PDF, MSWord, Shockwave/Flash, etc. plugins
Ability to ignore certain portions of web pages
Ability to look only at certain portions of web pages
Ability to automatically remove commonality (templates/boilerplate) from web pages
Walks using multiple threads and processes

Search features:

Search by date as well as relevance built in
Search by category
Automatic "Search these answers" feature
More search settings controllable with admin interface (though it is still totally customizable)

The pricing has been restructured to accomodate users' desires for a range of options between Webinator and Full Texis.

Received email notification of webinator upgrade.

Currently running webinator 2.5 as part of full texis

Webinator WWW Site Indexer Version 2.56 (Commercial)
Copyright(c) 1995,1996,1997,1998,1999,2000 Thunderstone EPI Inc.
Release: 20000627

Texis Web Script (Vortex) Copyright (c) 1996-2000 Thunderstone - EPI, Inc.
Commercial Version 3.01.962147411 of Jun 27, 2000 (sparc-sun-solaris2.6)

1. Does current texis upgrade now contain webinator 4?

2. If so, what's the cost (upgrade package was not purchased with original license)?

3. Or, what's the best way to upgrade?

4. What page indexing limits apply when using webinator 4 with full texis?

Thanks

1. Yes, a Texis upgrade, or new purchase, will include Webinator 4.

2. The cost would be the cost of the maintenance packages that you would have needed to keep current, i.e. 12% of the license cost per year or partial year.

4. The page limit for Webinator 4 with Texis would be the document limit from your Texis license.
