Installation problems

Post by Thunderstone »

When I went to install the 1.2 version I uncompressed and then untarred the
distribution I ended up with three files install, widb.tar, webnator.tar.
When I ran install it didn't seem to do anything so I untarred widb.tar.
This seemed to setup up webinator correctly. Now though when I go to do
anything with it it defaults to a path that isn't correct for my site. How
do I tell the program where it is residing? CPT Gary Domke

When you install use:
./install
from the directory you extracted install and widb.tar to.
Not:
install

Many systems have programs called install which do platform specific things.

I am trying to install Webinator 2.1 on an HP-UX 10.10 system and am getting the following error:

Installing Webinator files
Webinator files installed
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Invalid version for shared library: /usr/lib/libc.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Exec format error
/install[116]: 28287 Abort(coredump)

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks for your help.

Webinator was built on HP-UX 10.20 which is, apparently, not back
compatible with 10.10 . You will need to be running 10.20 or later.
