Deleting individual pages when using multiple databases

Post by Thunderstone »

I am using multiple databases, 3 currently, each with about 400 pages.
Each page is a simple HTML file with no links to other pages. In order
to make webinator index all the files in the database easily I created 1
index.html file for each that contained a link to each of the 400 pages
I wanted referenced. The pages are individual resumes. When a searched
is executed for anything the first page listed on the results is,
ofcourse, the index.html file. I wish to have only the actual resumes
listed and have no reference to the index.html ( that was only used as a
means to an end ). According the the manual I should be able to remove
an individual page, Following the instructions I typed this command:

gw -d/u4/mjbuell/virtual_html/webinator/austin -s "delete form html
where Url='www.careernetworkinc.com/austin/index.html'"

When I executed this command nothing appeared to happen. Please tell me
what would the correct syntax be to remove just the one page from each
of my 3 databases?

Thank you in advance for your excellent assistance.

That should do what you want (just make sure you say "from", not "form").
You should also delete from the refs table as described in the manual.
The deleted record(s) will be displayed on the screen.

Did you do a "select" first to see if that was the correct name of
the URL you wanted to delete? Check the undesired url that comes up
when you search and make sure you type it in exactly, but without
the leading "http://".
