32bits or 64bits license?

Post by tony.malandain »

Hi there,

Based on your online documentation, the 32bits version of Texis is limited to 2GB per table where the 64bits version has a much higher limit.
My version says 5.00.1092695634 20040816 (i686-intel-winnt-64-32).
Which one does that correspond to? What does the 64-32 at the end mean?
Assuming I have the 32bits version can I move my data to a table created with the 64bits version?
Does the 64bits version require a 64bits processor or is it only for the disk space address?

Thank you.

That indicates that it can handle 64-bit files, and will run on 32-bit OS and processor.

Can it handle table files larger than 2GB?
What are the restriction due to the 32-bit OS though?

Thanks.

Yes, table/file size is limited to 64 bits. Long/integer values are limited to 32 bits.
