Search rank?

Post by Thunderstone »

We're testing out webinator and many users have asked how rank order is
determined. I'll have to admit there's not much in the documentation in
that regard. Is there a site with an overview, or with suggestions as to
how to increase the chances of their page showing up in searches?

Also, is there a way to include all META tags in the database, rather then
adding them by hand with the meta switch?

Order of importance for ranking is: Title Meta-data Page-content
Place important concepts close together near the beginning of the
ranked elements.

The ranked search uses the Texis "likep" operator which is documented
in the online Texis manual available from our home page:
http://www.thunderstone.com
and the webinator example script page:
http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/example/
(Do a search for "likep" once you get to the manual.)

No. You need to specify the ones you want.
