Target problems when searching within a frame

Post by Thunderstone »

We need to know if it's possible to define the target window for the
search generated URLs as target= _top when using the free Webinator 1.3.
We're using the search index in a frame and when a user selects a
generated URL, it loads the complete frame structure in the main frame
window instead of loading to the Top window.

We would appreciate any help concerning this subject. Thank you.

Target problems when searching within a frame

Webinator does not itself issue any target information, and so should
work fine within a frame. Many sites have done this.

Try this:

<frameset rows=50%,50%>
<frame name=upper src=http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/webinator>
<frame name=lower src=http://www.mysite.com/>
</framset>

The Webinator in the upper frame should stay within that frame.

If on the other hand you are trying add target information to
each of the matches from a search, you'll have to wait for Webinator 2.
