I'm trying to configure the gw script. When I try to access it, I get
the error message "Could not connect to /proj/hem/docs/webinator/db in the
function openntexis". I checked every webinator-related file I could think
of to make sure that they were all set to my userid, and they are. So what
have I (not) done?
Thank you for your help (I have gotten several highly positive comments
about the nice new search engine on our site!)
Do you get that before it creates a database or on a database that
exists already? I will presume it exists for now.
Are there any other messages when that occurs?
Do you own the /proj/hem/docs/webinator/db directory and files in it
and are they all writable?
Is gw setuid to some other user id?
Are you able to create a new database?
If the database does not already exist:
Is the /proj/hem/docs/webinator directory existant and writable by you?
Have you successfully used gw on this system at all yet?
Are you out of disk space?
Please supply more info if you can't get it working:
operating system
gw version
gw command line(s)
maybe an "ls -la" of the database and gw.
