indexing question

Post by Thunderstone »

Hello,

We are using webinator on an evaluation machine. We are almost
ready to put this machine into production. I have a question about the
efficiency of the way we are walking our site. We have a script that runs
at boot up time. We index our site everyday so users can see the most up
to date information available at our site. The commands are as follows:

1. gw -d/tmp/db.tmp
2. gw -index -d/tmp/db.tmp
3. mv /webinator/db /webinator/db.bk
4. mv /tmp/db.tmp /webinator/db

Is there are better way to do this? Thanks for the advice.

That's they way to do it.

Also remember to copy over any top.html or bottom.html you may have
from the old database to the new one.

Some people with dynamic sites, put the above into a nightly cron job.
