one for the wish list

Here is one to add to the wish list for future versions of Webinator.

Output valid HTML.

It looks like the default is to product a document with no head and
only a closing body tag :-(

It looks like you may have a top.html installed, or are reading the
HTML source wrong. Webinator prints the following:

Its title
The contents of top.html, if it exists, else <body> (the default).
The search form
The search results (if a search was done)
The contents of bottom.html, if it exists
Its copyright and a </body> tag

So by default both <body> and </body> are printed, unless you have a
top.html installed that does different. The <TITLE> should probably be
inside a <HEAD>, but it is outside the <BODY> and so should be valid.
See the manual (http://www.thunderstone.com/gwman/gw.html) on
customizing Webinator's appearance.

I think the point is that a minimal HTML file really should start
with an <HTML> tag and end with a </HTML>. It's true that the title
should be inside a <HEAD> . . . </HEAD> and if I have a body statement in
a top.html, do I end up with two <BODY> statements? That would be a
definite no-no.
